Nostalgia (Mango Tree)

This is the same place..
where u and me once played...

A bright yellow sun
Tanned the green grass
all around that lone tree
Tanned our brown skin
as we ran free
Word games we played
Sitting under the shade
of that big lone mango tree
By the narrow winding road
which Led neither
Hither or Thither...

We were Innocence epitomized
Two Carefree souls scampering
Like butterflies on flowers, dancing
we were all that Love symbolized
Where did it all go?
Why did it all go?
Vanished into Thin Air
All round the mango tree..
But these thoughts which long ceased to be...
they now come back and haunt me
I search for you in my dreams
in those words long said
I search for you in the past
Always under the big lone mango tree

Innocence epitomized...
like the butterfly
Where did it all go?
Vanished into thin air...

Author's Note: Agreed that the tree in the picture isnt a mango tree. However this picture which I took represents a very strong emotion to me (if you know what I mean). There is a similar picture in my mind somewhere, only there its a mango tree. The poem above is a reflection of a lost, innocent, childhood love that all of us have borne for someone at some point in time.
